quiet solitude
Chop Suey, 1929
Unblinking Witness to a Moody Town >> Avis Berman
The New York Times carried this article on one of my favorite American painters, Edward Hopper. His paintings capture the quiet, solitary, introspective, and lonely moments in life.
There is a companion multimedia website for this article with additional photographs of Hoppers paintings.

Oh KB New York City should be a fun trip--especially in the Fall (which is, IMO, the best season of all!)
The Whitney Museum of American Art has a fantastic collection, and several Hopper's, including the ever famous, Chop Suey, painting.
